Our Founder's Story

Charles Howell’s journey in the roofing industry began long before he established Roofing Company Rockford IL.

Born and raised in Rockford, Charles grew up watching his father, a skilled carpenter, work tirelessly to provide for their family.

It was through his father’s dedication and craftsmanship that Charles developed a deep appreciation for the construction trade and the value of a job well done.

After graduating from Rockford East High School in 1975, Charles initially pursued a different path, enrolling at Rock Valley College to study business. However, he soon realized that his true passion lay in working with his hands and creating tangible results. During summer breaks, Charles took on various construction jobs, including roofing projects, where he discovered his calling.

For the next several years, Charles honed his skills working for local roofing companies. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming known for his attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to solve complex roofing challenges. As he gained experience, Charles began to envision a company that would combine top-notch craftsmanship with exceptional customer service – a vision that would eventually become Roofing Company Rockford IL.
